Hi Maria! Welcome to SparkPeople! I'm 48 years old as well and I want to lose a total of 80 lbs. I just had a great week and I'm so excited to start another week. I know we can do this. Don't beat yourself up over your weight gain (I'm guilty of this). But, think positively and take it one day at a time. emoticon

Hi, my name is Maria Houghton, I am 48 years old and 173 pounds. I think that I would be considered overweight, and I've lost weight before, but this time I want to lose weight for good and make the changes stay with me for the rest of my life. Right now I'm depressed that after losing 50 pounds I have gained 30 of these pounds back. I want to find my own "niche" as to what would work for me, and stay with this system for good; I'm looking to this site as a great way to go about it and be with a group of people that would support who I am and my goals.
