(I noted this elsewhere...yet I believe it belongs here on the Challenge Message Board.)
My main focus has always been to lose weight and the healthy aspects that come with this is simply a happy by-product. What I look like is all too important, although you wouldn't know this by looking at me. Needless to say, I don't want anyone who has seen me thinner, to see me fat.
I have a couple of friends that I have not seen for some time. One of them, I'll call "T", she knew me when I was around 180-190 lbs. My other friend, I'll call "J" was a life long friend until about 15 years ago. She's seen me at virtually every weight, except for my heaviest which was 260+.
I briefly saw "T" and "J" about 9 years ago and I was 240-ish. The last time I saw "J" was about 3 years ago and I was at my recent thinnest which was 160.
Now for the event-inspired weight loss part. "T" is turning 50 years old just days after Christmas and I thought it would be a hoot (or possibly an awkward situation) to arrange an evening together with both "T" and "J". BUT, I would have to lose 60 lbs. before I'd actually consider picking up the phone to extend the invitation. We can all do the math, that's 10 lbs. a month.
Do I have any takers? Does anyone want to join my 60 lb. journey? I haven't been too serious about my efforts, although I'm averaging 7 lbs. of loss each month since joining SP in early April. If you are serious, which will hopefully help me to become more serious, I'd love to hear from you. Post here or send me an e-mail and we can buddy up and lose 60 lbs. by mid December.
