My hubby and I eloped! And it was wonderful!! We actually had a very small surprised wedding... a few friends thought that we were going down to wine country for an engagement party and we just got hitched - it was soooo romantic and sooo wonderful! I'd definitely recommend it very very highly!!! One thing I would suggest to anyone thinking about it is to talk to your parents or relatives that might feel left out and let them know before you go off into beautiful wedded bliss what you'd like to do - having them onside makes the whole thing stress free and absolutely wonderful!!!

Check out Mount Washington Resort. It is beautiful year round and you have views of Mount Washington in the background. They also have a heated outdoor pool that you can swim in year round. It's really a gorgeous old resort.

Also, there are plenty of cabins in the White Mountains. Or there should be lots of summer deals at the ski resorts in Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont. If you want something super cheap and simple, go to one of the overlooks in the Blue Hills or check out Granite Links golf course in Quincy. It is a beautiful course and has views of the Blue Hills.

Have you thought about renting a cabin somewhere and doing it there. A lot of rental cabins have decks with amazing views. The cabins themselves can be beautiful and sometimes have hot tubs. You could have a private ceremony and honeymoon in one. We looked into that option, but don't have any extra money lately. Bummer.

Why don't you get married at your BBQ? You wouldn't have to have anyone stand up and could have a friend marry you. If you're having a BBQ, you're having to do a guest list at some point anyways and to be honest, I'm a big fan of witnessing the wedding not just the party that follows and I wonder why people elope and Then throw a party, especially when planning the reception is easily the most time-consuming, stressful, and expensive part You could ultimately have a low-key wedding that you want without having to fly somewhere by yourselves to get it.

Hello all! This is my second wedding and I really don't want to deal with any of the drama of guest lists, reception halls or who should be my MOH. Sooooo we are looking to elope and then come back and have a BBQ with everyone.

We are looking to spend about $1,500.00 and ideally want to do it in the New England area. I am envisioning mountains in the background. We are not beach people so a beach wedding wouldn't be our thing.

Any suggestions would be helpful! emoticon
