To edit your own recipe, go to and do the following:

1. Click on my Recipe Box at the top of the page.
2. Next to each recipe is a button to edit or delete your recipe, and remove it from or add it to the shared database.

How do you edit a recipe I was working on, saved so I wouldn't lose it before completing. It's not shared yet.

I would love if we could edit.

That feature would be extremely helpful to me! I absolutely love this site and it has been awesome to see my husband get involved, too! There are so many recipes that we'd like to try, but we would tweak a little to fit our family's preferences. I have been hesitating to try recipes this way because I know it will alter calorie content and we are trying to be as precise as possible so we can lose as much weight as possible. I would love to be notified as soon as this new feature is made available!

I agree the recipe editing upgrade would be a great time saver.

That will be a great feature! Have often wished there was an easy way to edit an existing recipe and then save it to Favorites without having to re-enter everything manually. Anxiously look forward to this upgrade!

Welcome to SP!

Unfortunately, if it isn't a recipe that you entered, there isn't a way to edit it. However, that is something that is on our list of features to add in the future.

I just started using Spark People and have found a few recipes that I want to try but there are some ingredients I want to alter, whether it's omitting one or changing the amount. What I want to know is, is there a way to edit the recipe without re-entering the entire recipe as a new one? I have previously used Weight Watchers and they allow you to edit the recipe without actually having to remake the recipe in the recipe builder. As far as I can see there is no edit option on Spark I just blind?? Any help is appreciated :)
