I will offer that it is very important to eat all of your "base" calories and at the upper end on days that you exercise. However, that does change a bit when you have your program set to "talk" with your tracker. For many people, the "right" amount of calories to eat when you exercise a lot is somewhere between the upper end of the "base" calories and the lower end or the increased totals after exercising. Eating back "all" your exercise calories every day can slow your weight loss process just as not eating enough. Finding the right balance is the trick.

I am in the same boat (sorta)! I get concerned when I do a spin class and the system adds all these calories on. How can I eat all those extra calories and still lose weight. I know not eating them will sabatoge me (atleast that is what SP says) but in my head, it seems odd to work out and eat more. Still new so continue to check the boards for other ideas and how to use these tools! Good for you for thinking ahead! emoticon

My view is that once in a while it doesn't matter, BUT if it is a bit more often than this, be careful. A lot of people don't recognize hunger cues. If you are exercising a lot, you DO need to eat to accommodate this, including helping your body to repair itself. Thanks for your feedback...that was my first intuition. But then, I feel like I got it drilled into me back when I did Weight Watchers to "EAT ALL YOUR POINTS!"

if this is a fluke, then don't make yourself eat. odds are you will be a little hungrier tomorrow to make up for it, which is fine. be okay with going a little over tomorrow too. if you find this starts happening with frequency, say more than every other week, that's the point when you need to make yourself eat. but for a one off thing it's nothing to worry about.

Should I make myself eat more if I'm not hungry? (Trust me, I know that 98% of you just groaned and said "I wish I had that problem!" because that's normally what I would say). Today is just a fluke...not very hungry. And I went to Zumba class and so it wants me to have more calories. The bottom range is 2000 calories for the day (normally 1200, but the exercise kicked it up) and today I've only had a little over 1,000. Should I eat more even if I'm not that hungry (trust me, I totally could eat. I just don't NEED to). Thoughts?
