Hi STRONGLEGGS - Sorry to hear that you've had a momentary relapse...but, if it's only momentary, that's fine and manageable I think. You mention "Can You Be My Superman" -- I believe we need to be our own superman (our own strength). It's truly wonderful to have someone else you can depend on; but, you want to be able to count on yourself and then everyone else is a bonus. At least that's my humble opinion.

I was 54 when I joined SparkPeople and 56 when I came back and started my Spark Program, starting with Stage One. This is a one day at a time program, but if you do the SparkPeople Program Steps, it really does work. I am terribly average, it's the SP program that is extraordinary.

I found logging my foods in the Nutrition Tracker helped me to lose 90 lbs in 16 months! I started at 210 and went to 120. I am 5'1.5" short, lol.

I hung clothing that was too small on my closet door and every time I would get discouraged I would try them on. Week by week they started fitting! That kept me motivated.

Welcome aboard, we really are all in the same boat! Sometimes we can sail right along but sometimes we have to be rowing like crazy!

You can make it happen! SparkPeople really does work!

I spent most of my 59 years in Obesityville - that is one town I never want to visit ever again!

emoticon Spark has definitely helped me and I'm sure you'll make progress here! I originally joined in 2009 and lost 100 pounds - and then I "fell off the wagon" and stopped trying due to personal issues. I'm back now after regaining 30 of those pounds but I know this works!

On my way home this morning, I remembered a song that my friend from the past had played. I really liked the song. After hearing it a couple of times, I realized that the words started to explain about a relationship that someone was hurt in and it ask this one question "Can You Be My Superman?"
Once it made me cry unexpectedly. It REALLY hit the center of me and made me ask myself the same question. I feel like that song speaks to me and now I am having a momentary relapse of emotions gone awry.
Taking a deep breathe and letting the past go, I realize that is a question that needs an answer when I am ready....
