Good suggestion. I'll give it a try. My biggest problem area is my feet. They are more neglected than my hands.

This winter has been particularly bad for dry skin. I use Avenno lotion on my hand, feet and anywhere else that needs moisture. You do have to do it every day. I work with a lot of paper so I apply it to my hands a few times a day. When I use face scrub I also rub it on the backs of my hands and elbows. It seems to help.

I've found drinking more water and every time I put and lotion on, putting it on my elbows as well has helped for me.

I am having problems with really dry hands...and I've read that water is so important to help your I'm trying to drink more water...maybe that will help you too?

I find vaseline brand works pretty well but you need to make sure you put it on right after you shower and reapply often. Also, once I became conscious of how often I rested on my elbows (at my desk at work, at my desk at school, while on the computer at home) I was able to stop doing it whenever I noticed I was doing it. That might help you, too :)

Bag Balm, found at Walgreen's or other drug stores.

I have Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. It isn't $25 though, thank goodness. I will try that too. Thank you!

I really like a product called Lemon Butter. It's a cuticle cream from a store called Lush, but it works great on all parts of the body. It's a vegetarian product from a socially responsible company so it is a little pricey (around $25, but it lasts several months), but you only need a little bit each time. It works all day, and smells just like a fresh squeezed lemon.

Thanks so much!

I have tried Vaseline and it doesn't seem to do that great. I will give the other suggestions a try.

Exfoliate with a salt scrub and then rub some coconut oil into your skin.

When I get a really rough patch of dry skin anywhere and lotion won't do the trick then I use Clinque Moisture Surge for a couple of days and that seems to make it go away. That's for the face but it works great if a part of my skin is really dry.

I use plain old Vaseline...just a thin layer every night on my elbows, heels, and hands.
I can't believe the difference in a few days

KJ -- see great minds think alike.... also we obviously have that 50 yr plus dry skin.

Just wanted to add that it isn't expensive, you can usually find it at Walgreens or someplace like that....

What works for you if you have super dry elbows? Regular lotion doesn't cut it. Mine feel like sandpaper!
