Hi Will! I'm Liz, and I totally hear you. I'm tired of being the chubby girl!
I'm back on my journey! I lost 70 pounds about 5-7 years ago, and the weight has crept back up, plus 20 more! I've been yo-yo "dieting" for about 6 months, and I really just have to get on it! Eating healthy is important, but don't forget fitness! I have asthma, and I've always been overweight-- so I'm not much of a runner myself! I do enjoy the elliptical at the gym, or walking on an incline trainer. If you don't have a gym at your disposal, I also do DVD workouts by Chris Powell (he's the guy that does Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition). He has 2 DVD's out and the workouts are quite good (they get you sweaty!) And they have a level 1,2, and 3, so you can set your own pace. I also look lots of stuff up on You Tube, and they have good videos for strength training too.
When I've been successful before with losing weight, I drank lots of water, ate lots of fresh fruit and veggies, and lean meats, and stayed away from all processed foods. (easier said than done) I personally feel the best when I eat low carb-low sugar--
Recently, I've discovered frozen veggies that you just microwave in the bag... Those are handy, and healthy! Hang in there. Its hard. I'm trying to focus on drinking water, and eating more fruits and veggies for the next week or two. This week my work schedule is unforgiving, so its difficult to fit in any fitness time, so I'll go all out vacuumming or cleaning!

As for feet:
Go to a running store. The specialized one that pretty much only sells running shoes. Be prepared to spend the $130-$150. If it's a good one, they know their stuff and can point you in really positive directions even if you're not intending to run. They know all about different feet/gaits and stuff.

I went early in my journey because I was having a foot problem. Found I was a moron when it came to buying shoes. They didn't even try to sell me anything. They suggested some better sizing approaches to try out without having to buy the expensive ones out of the gate. Later, when I actually started running, I did go back and buy some.

I can't tell you how dumb I was about buying shoes. You might know a little more than me as I've never dealt with any foot issues, other than the ones I caused myself by being dumb. But if you've never had someone watch you walk and talk with you about your feet and shoes, I cannot sing the praises of those kinds of pros enough.

Your story sounds familiar. Hit a high over 300. Got down to 270. Inched back up to 290.

Just got being tired of not being the way I wanted to be.

You can do this thing. SP certainly has the tools to do this. My biggest suggestion is as always to set some of the Fast Break goals. You'll want to set your overall goal, and then as Ron Popeil says "forget it". It was potentially disheartening for me to look at "man, 100 lbs. (or whatever) seems soooo far away and I only lost 2 lbs. in a week."

What the heck? 2 lbs? That was something I learned to embrace and turn cartwheels over. Setting out to achieve something that's very hard to do....lose weight....and accomplishing it simply by following the plan is very rewarding.

You can do things that you KNOW you're capable of. And the results will exceed your expectations.

My name is Will I'm 23, and weigh about 250lbs. I'm so sick of being the fat kid, I've come a long way on my own at my largest I was just around 350 and I got down to 215, then I guess I got lazy and now I'm here I just can't seem to get the weight off any more. I try to eat healthy and I don't know many exercises, so I'm here looking for what I don't know. Namely, a smarter way to eat/shop, some exercises that I can do without buying lots of equipment, or running (I have severely flat feet and running is horribly painful), and hopefully some support from people who know what I'm going through, instead of people who are naturally slim or content with their weight.
