It gets easier once you establish a routine. Make your workout the same time everyday and see what happens.

Do you like yoga? Yoga is strength training and it is not hard on your joints. If you go to a class with a friend, that is very motivating. You can plan on it twice a week and go out afterwards for a healthy snack.

Sounds like I just need to stick with it. Food isn't too bad as long as I don't OD even one day on the sugar. I have found that I can have those pasty crisp, 50 calories for one, sweet enough to satisfy me, but not so sweet to get me on a binge.

I am walking every day, even going to do a short one today since Sunday with husband home is the hardest. He wants me with him, but doesn't do any activities.

I do weights, some stretching, squats but I just struggle. I want to try some of the videos but with my room situation just not a lot of room.

Yes, I think each habit gets easier. I'm more used to using light weights upper body/lower body on alternate days. I walk on average 45 mins. to 1 hr per day.

Eating habits is a bit tougher. I have made many positive changes, I rarely eat store-bought cookies, I enter my food here on SP, I try to think about what I've had to eat during the day, and decide whether to eat anything else or not. If I overdo it one day, I eat less the next day or two. I don't order french fries when I eat out, I order side salads, or salad entrees more frequently.

The next thing I would like to change is to go back to not eating in front of the TV, I'll stick with breakfast only for now.

Little habits that build momentum.

Yes, it does get easier. Consistency is the key and I'm with waterone -- doing a small amount every day at home is a lot easier for me than trekking off to the gym a couple of times a week. If you do work out every day, just make sure you switch things up so that you're working upper one day, lower the next day and so on.

And we need to be ready; we never know what's around the corner. I started doing strength training last August and in December we bought a house that needs a lot of work. I've been carrying boxes of floor tile, helping my husband remove kitchen cabinets, working with a wallpaper steamer up on a ladder and doing all sorts of things that I couldn't POSSIBLY have done five months ago. I'm kind of sore and tired right now but in a good way. (Although if I had seen that house in my crystal ball, I would have done more back strengthening exercises.)

P.S. I'm 68, so don't let me hear any of you young whippersnappers complaining about how you're so old.

It does get easier. What has helped me get into the exercise habit, especially with strength training is to do the Official Exercise Challenges. I complete one and then go to another. I can face one 7-10 minute video for core, upper body or lower body each day where thinking of going to the Y and using the machines for an hour or even a half hour a couple of times a week makes me shudder.

I've completed 5 or six of them now and can definitely see a difference in my strength and muscle tone.

I am 53, trying to get back in shape. I don't have a problem walking up to 5 miles a day, but other exercises I just struggle with all the time.

I can't seem to get past doing a few here, a few there, they never get eaiser
