I've read great reviews on Body Pump on a dvd fitness board I belong to. I enjoy Jari Love and Cathe Fredrichs for my strength training. Cathe is more difficult than Jari.

I have done beach body before but wanted something different, I did P90X but had to modify some of it for my age and such, I want to lift free weights and then go up, but I'll go check it out, thanks much!

Take a look at the Les Mills PUMP program on beachbody.com. It's kinda expensive, but I loved doing Body Pump at the gym but hated fighting for weights and trying to find a space in the room. Glad they now have a home version

I was talking to Nancyanne55 and she's giving me some good tips too, I appreciate your getting back to me, I did not think anyone would answer me. I need something to challenge me and I lift the hand weights and really enjoy them, but I want to push myself to do harder things and I really like the weights and my son told me he's using hand weights to but his are super heavy and he said mom keep trying you will get there too.

He's only 29 and I am 60 but I saw this really cool youtube program on this older lady in her 70's who lifts and she looks great, and for that age she looks super great! Thanks both of you for answering me, I really appreciate it, this is going to be a long journey for me but I have syndrome x and doc told me I can never lose weight, but probably can inches, so I want to do this very much, and Im' not a quitter. Have a good day, thanks for sharing!

I believe weight lifting is good for toning and do use my bowflex and keep barbells in various rooms where I can pick them up and do some curls or french presses. My rules of thumb are to do at least 12 reps and keep same speed (slow) when relaxing as when lifting. Check out the healthy lifestyle tab for tips and instructions. There are videos there too as well as in your fitness tracker. emoticon emoticon

I wondered if anyone on this board lifts weights or is a body builder? I'm interested and would like to find out more about it, I was told by a friend I was crazy at my age wanting to do this, but isn't age just a number? I know women dont' get the bulk and I dont' want the bulk I want to get toned and feel better, and so if anyone can let me know more about it I would really appreciate your help!
