When I was 19 I had a doctor tell me my blood pressure was unacceptable for someone of my age. He made me change my diet before he'd sign off on my physical for work. Ouch.

Here's to hoping the shock will shock you into taking care of yourself correctly! Please, for your own sake and for the sake of your family and loved ones, take care of yourself and start watching your nutrition and moving a bit.

When I went to the doctor for my checkup, I heard what was one of the best things I'd heard in my life- that my 2-year effort to reverse what was wrong in my life had paid off with healthy weight, great bloodwork, outstanding cholesterol levels, blood pressure of an athlete (after it was on the high side 2 years earlier).

2 years earlier, the doctor said to me- shape up now or face a future of meds and prescriptions. 2 years later he said, good job, now keep it up.

You do the same. Best wishes- you can do it!

Took a trip to the doc last week and I was completely shocked about my weight. 341 lbs!!!! I haven't been too health concious until recent months. I can see I have a long way to go.

Anyone else been shocked by Doc visits?
