Great question!! I haven't really thought about this because my primary goal is weight loss, and this has taken up most of my attention. (I've hit the 1st 25, now getting through the 2nd 25!)
I would love to treat myself to a vacation. Quite a few years back I took a 4-day trip to a hiking "spa" - although "spa" is a slight exaggeration for this very rustic (relatively inexpensive) spot in Vermont. It was wonderful...quiet and serene with beautiful scenery and weather as well as all the healthy eating and exercise you could handle. This place also had facials, massages, etc. What a treat - and it was all good for me!! I would love to go there again, but this time less fat and more fit/healthy...

Most of my after weight loss goals are just things that everyday normal size people are able to do, but at my weight I cannot. I would LOVE to be able to sit and soak in a bathtub, and actually fit!! Or to be in good enough shape to start riding a bicycle again. To not feel uncomfortable sitting in a movie theater chair. To be able to go clothes shopping for anything that looks good, not just what will fit (maybe.) I would also like to maintain a healthy weight, but really I'm just looking forward to and excited to be able to live life again!!!

I don't think in tems of "after" weight loss. I have been overweight since puberty. (I am now 57.) I know I will be struggling to maintain a healthy lifestyle (and healthy weight0 for the rest of my life. It will end only when I die. So there is no "after" for me.
If I want to do something ... I will do it "during" my journey to and within a healthy style. So I might as well do it today. Why wait?

It sounds like everyone has some fantastic goals! I am pulling for all of you! I, too, would like to start running. I used to be able to run on the treadmill for no more than 10 minutes but that's easier than running outside, I think. But the feeling you have after running even for a few minutes, is awesome!!! I'd actually been toying with the idea on and off since I was about 18-19, that I'd like to work toward being a fitness instructor. I haven't quite sussed out the details, but I think it's something I would enjoy, and would obviously help keep me active.

I really want to keep the weight off and maintain! I have lost and gained in the past and no longer want to be a yo yo!! Going to work hard at keeping up the exercise and not slack off! I realized this is a lifestyle change for the rest of my life not for just the last 6 months. Stay focused!!

Yes! I've lost the weight (195 - 148) but now am working on losing another 10 pounds (vanity pounds, ugh hah) But my main goal right now is to complete my 18 week 1/2 marathon training. It's going to be challenging for many reasons but also because I am moving to Hawaii in 3 weeks and all the driving, flying and living in a hotel is going to really upset any kind of regular schedule. But I'm determined to keep at it!

My main goal is maintenance - not only to maintain the weight, but to actively maintain the healthy lifestyle I'm working to create. I'm not very competitive, so races and such only do so much for me. I'll have to seek out personalized goals one by one, something that is meaningful. For instance, let's say I am still single a year from now, and have been maintaining better than half a year at goal. A Christian singles' cruise would be a good goal to work toward, both raising the money, and the making sure I look my absolute best when I go. :)
Oh, and I love the idea many have of rockin' a gorgeous dress & heels!

i want to do the 3 day koman walk for the cure! and here in cleveland we have a event called petal to the point where you ride a bike from cleveland to cedar point and back over the weekend ( 75 miles each way ) - it's to raise money for ms. 2014 is when i want to do both.
Maintaining the weight loss and being part of the 5% who keep it off more than 5 years. I had previously lost 40 lbs, become less vigilant, and regained 30 back...I'm happy I kept some of it off, but I want to be healthier and keep the weight I lose off for the rest of my life.

I'd like to maintain my weight and my health and tone up as much as possible. I would also like a nice wardrobe in **one size** so I can stop spending money buying the same types of clothes for various sizes and weights!
I would like to continue to eat healthfully and learn to prepare killer meals that are in line with that goal.
I would love to travel more, be more adventurous, see more sights, try a zip line in a jungle somewhere (you get the idea!)

I think it's always important to continue to work towards goals, whether it be another race, a task that you didn't think that you could accomplish before, or something else that promotes healthy living.
I'm getting close to the end of my journey of weight loss and the beginning of maintenance, but I'll never stop challenging myself to improve in some way, shape or form.
Oh I have many many many! But my top ones: - I want to do the 10K Tough Mudder challenge and actually keep up with everyone and complete it - I want to rock a sexy little dress and heels and not feel like Miss Piggy! - I want to be a successful maintainer. Not one who yo-yo's, but someone who is in control of her body and life.
My number one goal is keeping the weight off and joining the 5% who do so for 5+ years. Since I would really love to travel more, I would like to plan some more active vacations - biking through Europe, hiking our national parks - to set fun fitness goals.

As my name says, I plan to walk the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine next spring. I don't intend to lose too much weight since I'll need the muscle and even some fat for the trail. I want to build my fitness. I'm losing weight which is good since I'm a bit overweight.
After I get into the normal BMI range, I'll have to put the brakes on it. I don't have much of an appetite and I want to workout at least three hours a day to build strength and endurance. I suppose when I lose the rest of my weight that I'll see if I'm able to eat enough to maintain and workout long hours.
Yep, there I am, swimming through the desert sands. Might just be a mirage, after all. But this is life, and we learn best about it if we explore it, and take our chances. A life unexplored, after all, is one of the saddest things out there.

I have a lot but first and foremost and try to have children. I need to get out of the obese/overweight category for me to feel I will have a non miserable pregnancy lol.
As well I want to do a 5K not walking lol, buy size 7 jeans again, feel great in shorts and a tank top not wearing my husbands big shirts, and also get a plain white wedding gown and have hair and make up done like I had on wedding day and do some FANTASTIC PHOTOS ...I have wedding photos but wasn't able to lose due to job hours/car accident and I also hate that we let DH's mother do all the photos we missed a lot of good stuff not hiring someone and I have some great photographer friends. I will never get photos of me dancing with my girlfriends or of my bridal party posed in the garden (it rained) but I can at least do some great solo shots with DH for an anniversary.

I reached my goal in May, and my goals are to tone up, eat a clean diet and run my first charity race.
I have weekly and monthly reward goals, but when I get to my goal weight I want to join a basketball team, or just get into some kind of sport or even teach a class at my gym!!!

I'm almost there! I have about another 10 pounds to go. I would like to run a half-marathon. I don't know that I'll ever be able to do a full marathon - 26.2 seems like SO long!!! But I'm almost comfortable with 5K right now, training for 10K.
I, too, want to be able to rock a hot dress and heels in public and feel totally comfortable!!
I'm doing a mud run this weekend, so that should be interesting!!! I'm not afraid of the mud or the other obstacles - I'm afraid of the weather!! Supposed to be only 40 sum degrees out and possible rain....ug.

I reached my first goal of losing 40 lbs, now I'm goving on to fine tuning my body. Losing the soft belly, tightening up, and building more muscles. After that, then maybe I'll look at 5ks or other little things to keep me interested and focused.

Well, I just started my journey. I'm 11 pounds down, and only about 59 more to go (til my half way mark anyway. lol). I want to run in a marathon. I never would have done anything like that! Ever!
I also want to go out in public in a dress and high heels, and look totally KILLER!!! I want to make heads turn, and then grab my husbands hand and give him a big sloppy kiss! LOL. I know that seems silly, but...thats what I would do. :p

Does anyone have a goal that they have set for themselves once you lose all the weight?
I would love to do a fitness competition. Never in my life have I ever really done anything bold or crazy to draw attention to myself. I was never in sports in high school, never participated in any activities or clubs, I was just sort of there. I feel like I just go through the motions everyday and I'm BORED! I want to, just once, do something outside my comfortable little box. Even if it's just one time, even if I don't win anything...I just want to conquer my fears, the fear of being seen, heard or having attention focused on me. Anyone else have something they want to do that they have never done before once you lose the weight...maybe that you can't or won't do because of weight, fears, anxiety, etc?
