No, not often anymore. I was a regular donor for many years when I worked for a large company that had blood drives right in the building.

My personal affirmation that I created for myself when I was 300+ pounds-"I am a person of value regardless of what I weigh. I am here to make a difference!" Using the power of love, I lost 173 pounds. I went from being a couch potato to running 7 marathons! seaglassqueen.blogspot.com/

Inspiration. Perspiration. Perseverance. Accept everything about myself- I mean everything, you are you and that is the beginning and the end - no apologies, no regrets.

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."

I used too--then became deferred! I got my gallon donor pin first though.
I made my first donation in high school in the late 70's. I have been a regular donor & even a pharesis donor. However, in recent years I have become a fan of tattoos and/or been on blood thinners to manage veinous disease so have not been able to donate. I'm no longer on thinners but just got my newest tattoo in October so must wait another 5 months before I can give again.
