This is what you will want to ask your doctor.... What should I avoid since I currently have diverticulitis? How long should I follow the diet, how many weeks?
Then when I am healed and feeling better....what type of diet should I follow, what foods to include, what to avoid. How many grams of fiber daily?

Thank you! I see him next week and I will address my concerns with him. I am embarrased that I didn't even think of that before I posted. I can't have seeds, nuts, popcorn or raw veggies right now due to having acute Diverticulitis. I will ask for a recommendation for a dietician. :-)
Your doctor should advise you, or refer you to a dietician. I know with diverticulosis some patients may have to avoid certain foods completely while others may need to get a certain balance of certain nutrients. Only your doctor will know what works in your particular case.
Do something everyday that your future self will thank you for.
This advice has to come from your own doctor. What you can eat depends on how serious the condition is and whether you have other health problems, and only a medical professional who has access to YOUR complete records would know enough to give you safe advice. Strangers can't help you; any information you did get here would not be safe to trust.

Can anyone recommend food choices for those who suffer from Diverticulosis?
