I'm right with you on all of this. It isn't easy & often discouraging! WE can do it! Keep going! I have to remind myself of this everyday. STOP GIVING UP, SO YOU CAN STOP STARTING OVER. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!! :)

Welcome to Spark!

I understand getting discouraged when weight loss stalls out, but don't give up. Look at how far you've come already. Like a previous commenter said, it looks like your body has gotten used to what you've been doing so far and it might be time to change things up.

You didn't mention strength-training in your post. If you're not already doing it, it's a good idea to add it. Are you watching your fiber intake? I've found that I do better with weight loss when I get at least 25g a day in.

Welcome to SP. Hang tough and stay focused. It took a while to put it on and it'll take a while to take it off. 30 lbs in 3+ months is mighty good.

Hi Smspearson, and welcome to Spark People!! Congratulations on your weight loss. It sounds to me as if your body has adjusted to what you are doing. Try adding more time to your work out or changing your work out all together. Check out the free workout videos on here. They have them for every exercise level and they even have chair exercises. You can find them under the orange tab at the top of the page titled "Articles & Videos."

Hi, this is my first time on spark people. I'm looking for some help from other people who maybe have fallen into the same boat I am in.
My name is Stacy and I'm 42 years old. I decided back in August I had to make a change in my diet for my health. I hated being overweight and feeling so bad about myself. So I started watching what I ate and I started walking. At first just a mile then I gradually increased it. My neighborhood is great to walk in, few little hills. August, Sept and Oct I had great success. 10 lbs each month. November and December hit and it slowed. I blamed it on the holidays even though I didn't pig out and we went on a 17 day vacation in November which I only gained 2 lbs during. Since then I've done everything right. I walk 3 to 4 miles each day and watch what I eat and the weight loss has basically stopped. I've lost 43 lbs...30 in the first 3 months. The last 3 weeks I haven't lost one single lb. But I've gained 2. I figure stressing over it, isn't helping but I'm so frustrated. I felt so good about myself in the beginning and just felt better. I started at 264. I want to lose 100 lbs altogether and I can't even get to 50 lbs. It's so tempting to just say screw it and start eating everything bad, but I see other people losing and I am usually not one to quit but I don't know what else to do. Before anyone suggest I take up running, I can't run. I hurt my knee several years ago and it kills me to try to run. I am open to any and all suggestions. Thanks in advance!
