Sorry you are disappointed, but we started charging for our mobile tracking apps because they require significant resources to build & maintain, but do not provide much revenue via ads (and we have to make money so that we can stay in business and support our free products)! The site is still 100% free.

The app was recently updated (and will continue to be updated) to include the log-in SparkPoints wheel, among some other features.

yes to access the internet using an IPOD TOUCH you have to be in a wifi hotspot..... I have wifi at home but why use it for sp then when I can use my desktop?

I don't have an Iphone ... those don't have to be in a wifi hotspot..... I just have the IPOD touch........

sounds like what she has as well....... but a lot of the apps are free on Itunes..........

I have an Ipod touch and had one for awhile..... I have the sp app but don't really use it on my Ipod.... since you have to have wifi to use the ipod I don't know when I'd really be at a wifi site that I HAVE to use the sp app right that minute....... I come home and enter my sp info on my desktop because why bother using the ipod when it's easier to use my desktop? I don't remember paying anything for the sp app? but I may have it's just been awhile since I downloaded it......

When I worked we didn't have wifi at work so it wouldn't have been able to use it then anyway.... I use my ipod in some restaurants that have wifi or my local grocery store but I don't really need to enter anything into sp at that minute I can wait til I get home.... I guess it would be ok if you want to look up calories for a food before eating it if you have wifi? I never do that with my ipod because of the wifi deal......

@LUANN_IN_PA: That is true. But while at work I do not have access to the site. I suppose I would if I brought my ipod touch to work and got on the site via their wifi. However, this is troublesome and I don't always have time to go through connecting to wifi. Work's hectic and we only have a half hour for lunch, if that. So I need quickness. I do not have a desk job where I'm in front of a computer the whole time at work. I'm on my feet 95% of the time and moving around. So the app would make tracking a whole lot easier.

You really do not NEED the app... just access the site, which is still free.

I got a new iPod touch for christmas and was so excited to finally be able to download the SP app to keep track of my calories and such. However, I was highly disappointed to find that it costs 3.99. I don't have any money on my itunes account right now. Not to mention I don't really know what taxes and such would be so it's impossible for me to just put the correct amount needed to buy the app onto my account. I really don't want to go out and put $10 on my account and then not use half of it. -.-

Bummer. I want the app, though, so I'll find a way! Haha. For now, though, I have My Plate lite by livestrong.

Who here has the SP app? Love it? Hate it? Worth the $3.99?
