Ok,
I just go sign into a 10k mud run! It is in september. Is a group of ladies that i workout with who are doing it. This would be my first mud run!! I am excited, but at the same time a little scared, because i am diabetic and i have a insulin pump which probably going to have to take off that day.
I will have to start to do more running is there anything else i would need to do.

I did the Warrior Dash in Huntersville, NC last year and I'm signed up for it again this year in May. Also doing a new one called the Ninja Challenge in Fuquay Varina, NC in June.

the Warrior Dash was a blast -- everyone was out for a good time, I don't think of myself as having lots of upper body strength but the pushups must have helped because I got over the wall and all of the other obstacles without any assistance. The only downside for me was that I had a sciatica flareup right before the race which slowed me down for the running portions but otherwise it was just fun; and the after party is a blast.

for training I've been working hard in yoga, doing some circuit type weight training and then my regular running schedule.

I am signed up for the one in PA at Montage Mountain on May 5. THis is my first time and I'm really excited. I have been doing weight training and running/walking to help get ready. I can't wait to hear how it goes for you on the 28th. !!

Oh, I hadn't heard of this one; I'm training for Tough Mudder next year (the granddaddy of mud obstacle races) and missed the ATL zombie run... That's right about enough time to train, too... Way more fun sounding than the Barbarian challenge.

Is anybody else doing this or has anybody else done this? I'm going to the one in Atlanta on April 28th and am SOOO excited! I'm just looking for stories if anybody else has already participated and or if you are registered to go, are you training? If so what are you doing?
