We all have our routines. Mine starts with a 5:30am wake up and a quick snuggle with my 6 year old. Then in the shower, start breakfast, keep the kids on track, feed the dog, fix my hair, put on my face, grab my lunch and get out the door by 7:10... whew. Travel the 30 miles/40 minutes to where my kids attend school and I work, drop them off by 7:50am and go 3 minutes down the street to my work. WORK WORK WORK with my face in a computer. 4:20 leave get the kids, come home, dinner, maybe walk, homework, bed routine, clean/laundry, maybe tv for a few minutes, sleep then start all over.. Sounds familiar.. where in this equation do we carve time for our kids? I've been trying to take at least 15 per kid just to play a game, sit and LOOK at them, talk to them, connect with them. In the evenings my laundry sits and the floor my have some dust on it but we have a family game. I have been making time for me AND I have been making time for the kids! Now that its winter it is harder to do things outside but we can still play inside. It may not be really active but sometimes just connecting with them is more than enough.
