That makes sense. I was kind of surprised that the dentist came up with the "one tooth" crown option. The discoloration over time with the two different materials will just mean more dental work on the teeth sooner or later. Initially, I didn't think of that. Hmmm...this guy is a "new" dentist. I'm still kind of skittish of having him do those teeth at all.

Lemons were your weakness, huh?! Interesting because one of our sons loves lemons & limes. He will need to cut back on that craving. Thanks for this info. Very helpful.

My two front teeth are crowned. I liked to suck on lemons as a kid which took off the enamel from my two front teeth. I had crowns because 35 years ago there was no other choices. Crowns need to be replaced about every 10 to 15 years. I would suggest that you get the same materials on both teeth made at the same time. Even a slight color difference which you will get if you choose two different materials is very noticeable when it is your front top teeth.

I've been debating whether to have my 2 front teeth bonded. Although, I did hear that bonding material can break. I visited the dentist today & he said he'd like to put a crown on the front tooth that was previously capped (from a break) & then match that color to the other front tooth. Or to crown both front teeth? I never even considered having 2 crowns put there? Anyone had this done?
