HI Debbie! Welcome to SparkPeople! It sounds like you have made great progress already, losing about 50 pounds! I also got motivated to lose weight and build a healthier lifestyle after an illness. It can really be a great motivator!
SP is a great community with lots of very helpful and engaged people. I know if you explore lots of Spark Pages and join some active teams you will find your niche and a strong support system here. Be sure to make your own Spark Page, too so that others can get to know you and your goals! You will be surprised at how quickly you build your support base here! So many people here can identify with your reason for getting healthier!

Hi, this is my first time on this website. I am 5 ft, tall and was over 200 Lbs. I am wanting to lose weight due to health issues. At this time, I am weighing 153, and my goal weight is 125. Three years ago, I had a stroke due to blood pressure and weight, and since I have 2 adult, wonderful sons named Ryan and matt, I made the decision to change my path, so that I had a chance of having a path to share with my sons.
