This morning started out by my son waking me up at 6:45am telling me he was ready to walk. He was rather disappointed with the fact that we didn't walk the previous morning, but I assured him we would resume our normal activities the following day. So there he was at 6:45am to remind me that we were to walk today. I told him he was a little early, as I do not have to leave the house until about 7:10am in order to get him to school in time to eat breakfast. He said, "okay, I will wake you up at 7:00am!". He woke me up at 6:57am and told me he thought I had been asleep long enough and it was time to get ready. So I got up and got dressed, put on my walking shoes, and we headed out the door. It was actually cooler this morning than it usually is. I can't believe it's almost Christmas and still getting in the high 80's to low 90's during the day. I guess that's what I get for living in Ft. Lauderdale. We didn't talk much this morning because I was trying a walking meditation method that I had read about earlier in the week. It seemed to work, but I couldn't focus all my attention to it because I to make sure he wasn't going to get hit by a car. On the way I picked up the pace and tried again for the walking meditation. It seemed to work as I was completely focused on what I was doing and my surrounding became sort of one with what I was doing. When I reached home, I felt completely relaxed and again felt accomplished. I rewarded myself with a bowl of Special K with Skim Milk and a glass of OJ. I can't believe how much more energy I have throughout the day when I walk in the morning!!!
