I have considered it, but have not done it yet. Some ladies at my church did it a while back and had very positive things to say about it, and how it affected them spiritually as well as physically.

I have had ongoing digestive issues. Medical tests have come up inconclusive. I have been gluten-free since January 1st, which has helped. Instead of eliminating single food groups one at a time my Dr. recommended to try the Daniel Fast and see how I feel. I am going to start soon (after I go grocery shopping!). I am not doing it for spiritual reasons, but to get the processed foods & sugar out of my system. I figure it's only 21 days of my life, and it could be a really good thing for me.
I did not read about this fast so I will be honest. However I am vegan raw and eat only living foods such as plants, nuts and seeds. I am NOT doing it for weight loss. I am doing it because God made amazing food, He gave me an amazing self healing body, and I want to take care of it. I don't really eat meat (and if i choose to it is 100% green fed) but for the next month, i am 100% vegan raw. i am honoring the body that God gave me. I destroyed it once and it will take me longer to bring it back to the amazingness that He created.
my way of eating doesn't sound too off from the daniel fast. Most of you may be able to sustain it too. I get too many negative comments that I will not be able to sustain my raw diet as most see it as a fad. Read up people. There are many who have been eating like this for centuries.
Before the rest of you give singular word replies to get points, which the top of the sparkcafe forum clearly states to please not do in the sparkcafe, I think it would behoove you to read up on the subject before jumping to the conclusion that this is a fast to lose weight, and that to say "fasting" automatically means that one is starving themselves. This is SOOOOOO not the case. Just do a google search on Daniel Fast, and you'll see, this is an effort to honor God with our bodies, and that means taking care of it while we do so.
This isn't for weight-loss, CM. I'm getting at least my minimum calories. It's fasting from meat and eggs...Fasting from rich foods-and concentrating on vegetables, legumes, and other edible plants. So really, you're just assuming that we've interpreted the bible wrong and are fasting to lose weight. Fasting to lose weight is not honoring God. It's starving yourself.

not me. Daniel's choice was faithfulness to Israel's covenant with God; not for weight loss. I'll make my own plan of health, not based on somebody's wrong interpretation of the Bible
YUP!!! Praising Him with the temple He's entrusted to me. My mother's doing one. I know several others. Wow. There are all these people doing a Daniel Fast at this time. God must have something pretty awesome in store, huh???
