The only dangerous foods to me are those that are sitting right out on the counter or right next to me. Doesn't matter in the slightest what those foods are -- I graze every bit as much on carrots and broccoli spears and bits of roast chicken and unsalted almonds as I do on cereal and candy and so on. Honestly, probably more so on the healthier stuff these days since I've lost my taste for many sweets. We've had 90% of a half-gallon of ice cream sitting in the freezer untouched since a house party in February. (Need to clean the freezer ...)
That's just me. I think it's important to control these things mostly through how we set up our lives, instead of trying to rely on willpower indefinitely, and willpower alone. So in my case, food gets put away, and grazeable stuff doesn't leave the kitchen. Sometimes I go for weeks without any issues at all, but then maybe I'm away at my parents' house for a few days and find myself picking up the things that they leave lying around without even thinking about it, and the willpower has to come back into play temporarily.
I have so many but the absolute worst is ice cream. Now if I buy frozen treats, I make sure they are individually packaged like WW bars or Skinny Cow. For a more indulgent treat I will just go directly to an ice cream store and get a scoop. Then the rest isn't in my freezer CALLING MY NAME.
I only started this journey July 7 so I haven't gone to ice cream store...yet. But I do have treats in the freezer for days I choose to incorporate them in my snacks for the day.
I admit I am powerless over corn chips and guacamole.

I define "dangerous foods" as those that control me, not the other way around. My addiction to grains runs very deep. There is much alcoholism in my family and I once heard a lecturer compare grain and sugar addictions to alcoholism. Alcohol is made from grains and turns to sugar in the body. The homemade pizzas you make from scratch and top with home grown veggies sounds wonderful. So wonderful in fact that I would make 3 and eat them all. My father is a sober alcoholic, 25 years now. But he still doesn't drink that first beer, because he knows it would not be the last. Beer is dangerous to him because eventually all he would have left in his life is his beer. I can say the same for grains.

Other than fast food and processed food, I don't see anything as "dangerous" per se.
Pizza is a splurge for me and something I don't have frequently, but it isn't dangerous. I make my own dough from scratch, top it with quality cheese and vegetables from my own garden and use good-quality olives and olive oil. Lately I've been cooking pizza on the grill---SO good!
Eating out frequently is potentially dangerous if you are trying to lose weight, especially if you are eating at places like Olive Garden or Applebee's where foods are frozen and full of salt and other preservatives. You don't really know what is in things when you eat out and you can't control ingredients, so it can be dangerous if you are really serious about living a healthy lifestyle.

My grandmother ate popcorn and a big bowl of ice cream everyday for as long as I knew her. she lived to a ripe old age and was sharp as a tack right up until the end.
There are no bad foods...as long as you're eating REAL food, and not any of that GMO, high fructose corn syrup type of nonsense. You want pizza? Get some good, locally made pizza. Avoid the big pizza chains. Popcorn? It's great! Make your own at home...and don't make it in the microwave! And chips are awesome. You can make your own, or find a good, organic brand made with better ingredients than the big name brand versions.
Oh, I agree. Processed foods in particular are *designed* to make you want more, and the whole industry is shady. But for me, I can usually keep a handle on it with portioning. A double-serving of Cheerios once every few months hasn't caused me any noticeable problems so I'll have it as a treat from time to time.
For me, that's what I mean about disliking the demonization of particular foods: I don't like to say "Food X is bad and off limits." I'd rather say "Food X isn't particularly nutritious so I'll only eat it occasionally, and only of I really want it." More often than not that line of thinking actually results in me avoiding it *more,* whereas banning it from my presence outright doesn't help me. But that's all psychological and entirely related to the individual.

Cereal, chips, and the like, are dangerous for me. If I eat them in any amount, I am a bottomless pit.
It isn't weird that you crave a food that is loaded with sugar, and has almost no fiber ( Cheerios ). America in general has no problem packing away these foods.
If the government wanted to solve the obesity epidemic, they would put " Dangerous " right on the box. Obviously, we are responsible for what we put in our mouths, but since they made it to cause cravings, we are incapable of resisting, after we start eating it. In the end we suffer from obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. I don't know about you, but I think that is " Dangerous ". Like cigarettes, some people can handle it, but judging by the 60% + overweight( and growing) population, those people are few and far between.
What do you mean by "dangerous?" I am very resistant to the idea of "bad foods" because for me, it's not the *food* that is the problem, but our reactions to it. Some things are easier for certain people to "put away," so to speak. If you mean the latter, I'm definitely with you on pizza. I have to make sure I have a vegetable side to help fill me up, because otherwise I can over-eat pretty easily. Another food I have trouble moderating is Honey Nut Cheerios, as weird as that might be. I always just pre-plan to have a double-serving if I'm having it because chances are good that I will.

Pizza, popcorn, chips, chips, chips. And as I've aged I find that I've developed a sweet tooth. I've had several patients over the years advise me to eat dessert first "just in case you don't live through the whole meal." They were all very elderly and I laughed. Never thought I'd be there at 55!
