Sadly, since I had a herniated disk & back surgery, and now deal with lifelong sciatic nerve damage & a disable back....yeah, mowing the grass is out for me. I can't shovel snow. Can't mow the yard. Can't even vacuum the carpet without pain...darn. ;)

I'll stick with walking for my exercise! And just enjoy the summer days on my patio. :)

I used to be the only one who mowed the grass on our 1 acre with a push mower. However, now we live on 6 acres and our riding mower is too tough on my back after last year's surgery so I tend to avoid mowing now. I used to love it though.

I am the same! I enjoy getting out doors in the sunshine and fresh air and I feel like I am burning lots of calories. Earlier I took my blood sugar 2 hours before I cut the grass, the reading was high and later after I cut the grass it was 76. emoticon

I love to mow the lawn. My push mower died emoticon

so I bought a reel mower emoticon DH tried to talk me out of it, but I cut the grass to get exercise. Plus I can listen to my MP3 and the dogs can stay out in the yard with me while I'm cutting the grass.

DH still has his riding mower if the grass gets too thick for the reel mower

To burn calories and get a great work out . Cut the grass! Burns up a lot of sugar. Lowers the blood pressure and also the blood sugar.I help my husband cut the grass at our home and it sure does help with weight loss etc.Terrific excerise! emoticon
