What you ended up doing sounds like a perfect sub. Cream sherry wines are not creamy, they are more sweet with a fruit finish. Some are more nutty or spicy.

I doubt the recipe would have tasted much different if you had used the real deal, honestly, and you saved some money with your sub.

I found a recipe for Chicken Gloria. It sounded wonderful, but called for Cream Sherry Wine.I didn`t know what it was and I never have wine in the house anyway. After searching the internet for substitutions and getting no where, I used cranberry/blueberry juice blend with a table spoon of balsamic vinegar added. The recipe turned out yummilicious, but wonder if it would have tasted different....anyone know substitute for Cream Sherry Wine?
