I am menopausal. I do believe my problem stemmed from the coleslaw that I ate. It contained sugar then caused a spike in my BS. I don't eat white sugar or flour. I do eat some fruits. I am happy to report that I was able to regain the focus I needed and made it through the night without a problem. Thank you for your response. (Note to self: stay away from coleslaw EVEN if draining the 'juice'. I will make my own coleslaw and not have this problem in the future)

Hi, Judy ! Not to be nosy, but are you nearing your menstrual cycle ? Many women tend to have voracious cravings when their cycle is near. That could be one explanation for your extreme cravings.
Spark People has never been about deprivation. It's all about moderation and portion control. It is okay to have a treat now and then. If we deprive ourselves of something we'd really like to have, that does set us up for a binge later. All things in moderation.
Also, it is true. Some times hunger isn't really hunger, but thirst. Do try drinking water, but if you still feel hungry, have something to eat. Have a piece of fruit. Have some nuts. it's just a little something to keep the edge off. you don't have to starve yourself to be healthy.
You may be hungry, but you may just be thirsty. Try drinking a glass or two of plain water before you eat anything. Wait 20 minutes or so, and see if you are hungry again. Maybe you are. If so, why not munch on something healthy but satisfying, like carrots or celery and peanut butter? Or you can always have a large salad drizzled with a tiny bit of balsamic vinegar and black pepper. I just came home from work and wanted a snack, but instead of eating ice cream, like I wanted, I ate 1 oz of cheddar cheese, 4 saltines and a cup of grapes. 210 calories and I feel FULL and SATISFIED.
I feel like I am about to lose control. I have been in perfect control since 8/3. today I had some coleslaw (probably had sugar)----I stay away from sugar and flour. Now, I want to eat everything in sight. so far I haven't ----please help. I am hungry...I don't want to exceed my intake for the day....i know it's the sugar 'talking'. judy
