I know I need to heal it just really makes me mad because I JUST started this in the end of April and have been doing SO good! I have been resting mostly. I am going to continue to just walk slowly everyday for my peace of mind but relax otherwise. Just feel like I will have to start all over again now in another month or two or however long it takes to heal :( Thanks for the advice though!! It's appreciated.

Exercise DOES make the process easier, but with cracked ribs? You have to let them heal, as you've already learned. My husband cracked his a month or so ago, and he's still unable to do a lot! You use that part of your body in just about every exercise you do. Focus on tracking your diet, and don't worry about fast weight loss right now; your body needs the extra calories to heal, so maintenance might not be a bad goal for you (you can even think of it like a trial run for when you reach your goal weight!)
True. It just seems I lose more when I workout instead of just eating. I am a veggie junkie so eating isnt the problem. Thanks for the tip though. I will continue to eat well and walk for now. Hopefully that will keep me good and not gaining :) Thanks!!

Your best bet is probably to rest, but check with your doctor to be sure.
The good news is that when it comes to weight loss, the majority of your progress comes from diet, not exercise. So as long as you're careful with tracking and stay in your recommended calorie and nutrient ranges, you can still lose weight consistently even if you can't exercise at all.
I fractured both sides of my ribs last week and they didnt hurt at first so I continued my normal workout regimine. Well over the weekend I couldnt hardly move so I think I worked out too much and damaged them more! This just about devistates me because I just started dieting and working out in April and since have lost 10 lbs. I know that ribs can take a few weeks to months to heal and now I feel that if I just eat good I wont lose the weight. I need to workout. What can I do for easy exercise that will still be effective while healing? I went from doing elliptical 30 minutes every morning, at lunch I did a strength training class for 30 minutes then after work I did my zumba or cycle for 60 minutes. Very sad right now. Any suggestions on what to do while I heal would be great! It does hurt to walk so I just dont walk fast and take pain meds. Thanks a bunch for any comments!!
