I find that in order to make a dent in my 10,000 steps a day goal, I need to get on the treadmill and make sure I get out of the house. Either work or some serious time spent at the mall or a street fair is neccessary. My house is just too small for making step progress even if I walk back and forth like crazy.
My goal is 10,000 steps a day. I check my steps throughout the day to see if I'm staying on track. I like to get at least 5,000 before noon. I have also posted my goals and write down my total for each day. At the end of the day, if I haven't reached my goal, I just walk around the house until I have or walk in place while watching TV. You will be surprised how many steps you can get in during commercials. Good luck on you journey. Sounds like you are off to a good start.

I started this a will ago and I found that trying to beat yesterday help to get the step rate up. My best is 30000 and I have never got near that again
Keep trying and you will do it.

I really do love my pedometer -- it tracks my steps for past 7 days so I can really get an idea of where I am. I keep hearing the challenge is 10,000 steps a day. My personal goal - since I am just starting out has been 2,000 a day. I have met that all 5 days of this year. I want to increase that goal a little at a time. I hit just over 2,000 two of the five days - 4,000 one day and just over 5,000 another day.
Even though I can't seem to get motivated to get on the treadmill.....I am encouraged that I am making progress that I can actually see.
