After about 4-6 weeks of doing the same activity all the time, your body gets used to it. So that extra work becomes like a normal part of your day. I agree that I wouldn't track it as exercise and would consider it a bonus to your weekly goals. Even though you're sweating more, as soon as you rehydrate that water weight comes right back.

I think I would also count it as bonus especially if you are working on losing weight. When you get to the point where you are maintaining (or if you were trying to gain) you might find that you can eat more than you should be able to to maintain your weight. But the heat generated in those costumes (I wore one for an event and rode an exercise bike wearing it so I know they can be hot!) doesn't necessarily boost your calorie burn much. The weight of the suit and the extra movement would. But it depends how long and how much you are moving and is really hard to quantify. I suppose you could log what you were doing (not counting the suit) and count the extra work from wearing an extra 7 pounds as bonus. I'd probably look at something like that if it seems like you are not getting enough to eat. The spark range tends to be fairly broad and generous anyway so it may not really be an issue. or you could just eat towards the upper end of your range on days where you work especially hard in the suit.

No way of knowing for sure. I would just count that as a bonus activity.

As part of my job, I have to put on a huge costume suit (about 7 pounds - its extremely hot) and walk/dance around and give hugs to people for about 15 - 20 minutes. I'm constantly moving and hugging, and in the suit and the heat, I was wondering if anyway knew how many (if any) calories are burned doing that?
