You have made the right choice in a place to make a difference in your life! I started here in Feb and have lost close to 75 pounds, with the help and support of this network of information and people! Spark offers some great information, recipes, workout ideas and videos! Welcome to SparkPeople. We are glad to have you here with us. You will get a lot of support and encouragement from our friendly and caring members.
The SparkProgram is not about losing a lot of weight real fast. It is about changing our habits and learning how to lead a healthy lifestyle. By losing weight the healthy way, our weight loss is much easier to maintain once our goal weight is reached.

WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.
A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.
2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family! *~ Paula *~

A healthy lifestyle is a process - more of a journey than a destination. SP with all its features and tools can help you along the way and with the support of its members, well, it's a recipe for success!
Don't expect to change everything overnight. It takes small steps to get from where you are to where you want to be. Just think about The Tortoise and The Hare. You can win the race if you stay focused and take slow, steady steps to get there.
"Moving More & Eating Less" works so try getting in some exercise everyday even if it's only in 10 min. increments - it all adds up in the end. Try making healthier food choices and watch your portions. And tracking your food does make you so much more accountable for everything you put in your mouth.
Surveys have shown that participants in Message Boards lost more weight and stayed with their program longer than non-participants so come by as often as you can. Here at SP you'll find all kinds of motivation and support from people who have similar goals as you do. We are all taking this journey together and we truly want to see each other succeed!!

Hi My name is Amy and im new to sparkpeople. I hope I can find some encouraging friends to help each other to lose weight here.
I believe as long as you control your mouth from eating, for sure you will lose weight. Last year I lost 30lb in just 2 months, but I gained it right back after I fall into the bad eating habbit again!
My goal is to reach 135lbs before 2013. Nothing is impossible
