For me, tracking my food intake was a huge eye-opener...and I read anything by Dean Anderson - he really gets into the psyche of destructive eating habits and some really great ideas to successfully overcome them.

Good luck!

I have to second JOJOSHOME's message. You need to give yourself time. Take this all in baby steps. Gosh, I'm impressed with all you've done in a week! It took me weeks to get on the message boards and start blogging. Have you joined any teams? I belong to several, but I find a couple of them have members who've really supported me. They see my status on their friend feed and send me little messages when I need support. The team huddles include one message that says "I need support". I clicked that one at the beginning of my journey when I was as frustrated as you. I got the most beautiful e-mail from a woman who lives thousands of miles from me, but who gave me just the words I needed to hear to keep on trying.

Please let me know how I can support you. You have done an awesome job to take all the things that have happened to you and to move on with your life. I know...

Thats a hard question to answer. There are tons of supportive people here and lots of motivational stories to inspire you but here you have to be pro active. As you know there are no magic wands and the only person who can do this is you!!! You are here and have taken a huge step. but you've only been doing it for a week. It takes time to figure it all out and find all the right places for you. The boards are a great place to seek help. But unless you are truly ready to make this journey and change your lifestyle nothing here will help you. The best motivation you have is you have survived a terrible ordeal and came out of your abusive relationship a strong woman who lost 200 lbs in 2 years and found love, an amazing feat. The best thing I did was start a food and mood journal. I log my food and keep a separate journal and really pay attention to the way I feel each day. Spark has an online journal page that you can create. Keep coming back and really get familiar with the site. People are always here to lift you up, offer suggestions and help in anyway we can. You just have to ask the right question. Good Luck and if you need additional support please feel free to email me

So I'm new to SP I made a page and have been tracking my food and diet only for a week now. My confusion is I've been reading the blogs and message boards and some of the articles but I can't quite figure out how to get the support I need. Once again in my life I need to lose weight. First I was in a abusive marriage for 28 years and once I left I lost 200 lbs in 2 years and felt great. I did it on my own because I wasn't emotionally challenge anymore and really started feeling good about myself again. Now I'm in a great relationship but a really stressful and unfulfilled job and have gained 60 lbs back.

I know my guy loves me any way I am but I don't feel good about myself once again. I joined SP hoping to get the motivation I need to lose the weight again but can't quite figure out how to get the help! Any suggestions?
