Ditto on the buying a flash drive and backing up stuff. Software and hardware can be replaced, family photos can't. If you have a Mac, start using the Time Machine function NOW.

I don't backup as conscientiously as I should too!

Ugh! What a bummer! I'm going to back up my computer today.....just in case. I've had to have my hard drive recovered too in the past.

Glad you are back up. Was wondering where you were lately!

Did Bestbuy recommend that you buy a USB flash drive or USB hard drive ? If not, go online and buy a flash drive to back up your files. I regularly back up my computer because I know "stuff" happens. So, if my computer were to crash in a big ball of flame, I still have my data.

I encourage EVERYONE to do a back up of their hard drives. Most people don't realize that if their computer dies, they lose all their digital photos. So, if there is anything you don't want to lose, do a back up.

Files can be saved on a "stick"

Literally, it crashed onto the floor...ugh, and I lost EVERYTHING. My hard drive went wonky and I had to have Best Buy fix it. I have so very much missed my computer. But, I have it back now...until my hard drive decides to go away completely.
