I'd agree.. the pleasant words echo in our heads for a long time. I saw a former student today who told me how awesome I looked and it felt good. I try to do the same... the only thing I really try to be careful of is to make the compliment sincere and specific.. and not to backhand it!
And when complimented, the best thing you can say is a simple "Thank you....that makes me feel wonderful!"

I try very hard to compliment people. It is always nice to get a compliment from someone you only see once here and there like someone at the gym. Those are the ones that surprise you since it takes a little more courage for the person to give than a friend to say it.

When I haven't seen someone for a while, I ALWAYS tell them they look great and tell them looks like they've lost some weight. Even if it doesn't look that way. You should see the beaming smiles and most women will say to me "Really? Do you think so? It's only a few pounds."
Really makes their day and their smiles and happiness makes mine!

Who here loves getting compliments? I know I do Its an instant mood lifter and helps keep me motivated to know someone else is watching me. Randomly today, a young lady @ the gym came up to me and said, "just wanted to let you know,I think you are looking great! How much have you lost?" Just what I needed because i was feeling kind of BLAH today.That lead me to think about how many compliments do I actually GIVE? Not nearly enough...so Im challenging myself and all you sparkies to try and compliment just one person, maybe a co-worker, a random person at the gym, spouse etc. each week on their accomplishments, not only will it brighten their day but it will make you feel great as well.
