I moved to a new town too September 2012. I didn't know a soul and I have trouble meeting people myself.
I got involved in my church. I got involved in my community. I go to the parties that my apt complex puts on every so often.
But the ONE THING THAT I NEVER FORGOT was my big why. Why do I want to get healthy? Why do I want to to be the best I can be. Nothing can ever break that motivation. i see the picture of my motivation and inspiration daily even though he is about 600 miles away. he is important enough that even though i don't know anyone, even though I have trouble meeting people, he gives me the reason to get out of bed and do what I HAVE to do to get healthy. Lyle is more important than me feeling sorry for myself or stressing out because i moved to a new state.

You may also want to check out local meetup groups. That is a fantastic way to meet people. My lifestyle is raw vegan and I found the perfect group. I go to the meetups which are generally free and learn more and more about my lifestyle. There are ones for fitness, healthy living, nutrition, yoga and all sorts of others. Want a walking club-- I am sure they are out there.

You know what we all fall down. Just know you CAN and WILL get back up. Don't worry about meeting people when you start walking you will see others walking. Go to the Walmart, or mall and shop (window shop). It's a great way to keep your mind off the fact that you are walking. Put a tracking app on your phone and track your steps before you know it you will want to do better as the days go on. Trust me I've felt the same way before. Just know you have people that have your back. Start small if you have to but... start. I pray that God will give you the strength you need to get up and get moving again. All the best. emoticon

Just Hang in there you will find friends in your new place, it just takes time. For feeling unmotivated, well just start moving and forget what you did and just focus on what you want and what you are going to do. And if you need more motivation or a friend you can friend me.

Hi everyone. I am so feeling defeated lately. I was doing really well for a while until about July of last year I put on about 40 lbs after losing about 20 with kickboxing and Zumba. I am feeling very UNmotivated. I have moved to a new town and I do not know anyone, nor do I seem to make friends real easy. I want to take this weight off so bad but I am stuggling. suggestions? HELP?!?!?
