Well this week is not going too good. have not stepped on the scale but i feel like i have been eating more than i should. We actually do not have the usually snacks in the house so i should be doing better. I keep a candy drawer. grandmother started it.
have a dentist appt today, so i won't be eating much today from being numb.
still no exercise. but very busy with work, not enough hours in the day.
hubby has been sick so i am not cooking good food, just quick foods. maybe that is why i feel i haven't been doing good this week. hummm may be i am ok.
son should be home the end of march, back to cooking a lot of food. thats ok, really like him around, a fun kid. young man.
well, i will try and get some form of exercise done this week....

Wow, Thanks for the encouragement everyone! To bad about the back. Be sure to do what the p.t. says. you will be back at it before long.

This week was ok, diet wise. tried to do the military diet, lasted only 2 days. Will weigh later today to see if it hellped any. Don't like making 2 meals in the evening, so I tried to eat small portion of hubbys dinner. Evening snacking is hurting me. Seem like once i start i just want more. I can not stop at 1 small piece, like recomended, sets me off to eat more. Fun size bars are no help. ha
one son is coming home this weekend, cooking his favorites, mine also, so will be a tough weekend. hoping to get on the treadmill this weekend and get me motivated again to exercise. still need to stop in at the rec center and see what they offer. may exercise more with people around.
Now have 3 months to lose the weight. For my sons wedding. I really do not want to have this belly when looking for a dress in June and the wedding is in August.
Didn't realise losing the last 15 pds would be soooo hard to do. really need to focus on eating right and exercising.....

Age definitively changes the way you lose weight I never had to diet before. I just maintained a weight that I liked. Now I have to exercise and diet and hope to lose weight. Being down with my back has not helped but I am doing physical therapy and hopefully I will be back to exercising regularly

Age definately plays a roll in weight loss !!! I never had to diet my whole life till now. I'm not as active, thyroid is gone, appetite is up. not a good combination.
When the kids went off to college, i really slowed down. Not on purpose, just the way things went in life. i didn't have to chase them around anymore. meetings, sports, etc.

put a few pounds on during vacation, knew that would happen. starting the military diet again. not near as excited as last time. hopefully i can do it.

You can do it. I also believe that age plays a role in weightloss; however, we can do it.

The MD worked well, i went from 138 to 134. 4 pounds is great for me. esp since i have been stuck at 138 for 6 months.
I will do it again.
behind in posting b.c took a trip to az for a few days. enjoyed the sunshine and warm weather.
now back and getting ready to do the md again on monday.
very hard to eat right on vacation, but did not sweat it. just enjoyed the days off from everyday life.

got interrupted on last post.
Really learning about my eating habits that I didn't even realise i was doing, by being on this m.d. I snack a lot at 3 and 8. and wasn't making good choices when i did. but on md, I chose from my list that i saved from the meal plan and eat only that. My starchy foods were very high in the evening meals too. I would eat a whole stick of string cheese or a tootsie pop to snack on. not now.
I eat a lot of red meat. and i should only do that maybe 1-2x a week. of course my portion sizes where to big also. 3 oz is not very much.

On day 3 now, and not doing to bad, a little shakey this late morning but did not eat all the b.f. so that may be why. Feel fine now after eating lunch.
have not exercised at all during the diet, yet, may try to this afternoon.
Soo will be interesting to see if i lost anything.

Still doing ok on the m.d. surprising..
want a snack at 3 and 8. drank hot tea. carrots, yogurt.
will be interesting to see if i lose anything tomarrow.

started the military diet today. so far doing good.
I'm not a breakfast person and i drink a lot of coffee in the morning so that was easy. saved some b.f food to snack on later in the day.
I know the tough time will be the evening, tv and snack. give me strength.

ok, i weighed in the same again...
going to try the Military Diet starting on Monday.. a group of gals are doing it, so i may as well try and see if will jump start me....
Quiet weekend and still did not exercise,,,yet... i have time to get motivated and do it still..
Going to try and exercise in the morning. not a morning person but the only time i really have time during the week.
I guess i should be happy i am not gaining, but watching everything i eat and getting no change is getting old. Obviously i have to exercise to lose anything and i don't esp like too.
Started dieting jan 1 and have lost 0. instead of just watching fat and calories, will try watching the carbs too.

One more week down.
I will weigh myself later today, I did a lot better eating but not on exercising...
Played catch up at work due to being down a couple days last week. seemed like i was constantly doing something from 7 to 7, then exhausted by the end of the day.
Really don't like cooking diner at 7 at night, I tried to eat light but still had to cook for hubby. seems a waste of food not to eat what i make him, really having trouble getting over that. I need to do/eat what i want not what everybody else wants...

What a week. glad it is over with and now recovering from it. Dental work done on me again. very painful. and could not do any heavy lifting and only soft foods. Still tender in the mouth today.
Will try and exercise on treadmill this weekend. afraid the dvd's will be to much as it is like starting all over again. Getting the muscles working along with the heart.
Really need to watch what i eat closer too.
Going to be hard with super bowl sunday, but will try.
I really would like to be able to find that perfect time to exercise. The obvious time is the morning, do it and have it over with. I am not a morning person but may try that next week.
Even 30 min on the treadmill is better than nothing.

Week 1 down. according to the scale there was a little loss but i usually flucuate a good 3 pds during a week. got in 3 workouts during the week, ok. i will try and do better on that next week. food was ok, i need to remember to keep track of what i eat. i just kinda guess as i go.
we pretty much know what food is good for us.
Still having trouble with the ankle. it is hard to exercise when you know it is going to make you hurt.

Day 3, sunday.
I always take sunday off, I did do 70 min of treadmill, about 330 cal burn, and did not go over on cal, but according to the food journal I went over on sodium and carbs. but not by much.
It is hard to be patient and wait for the pounds to come off. seems like you work at it and the numbers don't move. but i know it will take weeks to see a result if i keep it up.
Thinking of doing cardio today if i get the new dvd set up. I am not mechanical.
Have a lot of computer work to do today for the business. and mondays usually ends up being hectic and my schedule gets messed up.
Baby sitting sons dog,rex, this week. a group went to Cancun. He needed the vacation bad. to much stress.
Need to decide what to make for dinner tonight for me and hubby. Try and add red pepper to dishes. High in vit c, which we need a lot of this season.
waiting on doc to fill meds and have a dentist appt this week,yuck.
Will still be very cold today, 15, with wind chill -10. not taking the dog for a walk today.
ankle is a little stiff and sore today, but not as bad as when i walked 90 min. and I loosened the left shoe up some.
Stay focused and eat right,,,,don't sneak a snack in and blow hard work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

day 2, saturday, The dreaded weekend diet.... I always seem to go off on the weekend. I did go the the mall and walked a lot, also parked in the back everywhere i went. but the food was over on calories. So tired by the time i got home just napped. I will be cold today, so hoping to exercise today and make up for yesterday, also got a new dvd player, so will be able to get back into the exercise videos.
no plans for dinner today yet, thinking chicken soup,homemade. I need to check the fruit and veggie stock in the house.

Day 1 was not to bad, and I even got on the treadmill, the day was messed up bc hb traveling, I did snack a couple times but not as much as yesterday. skipped b.f. witch i need to stop doing. lunch was healthy tuna on wheat, dinner was egg sandwich/banana. But i did not have to cook for h/b. so that makes dinner easy for me.
Did the treadmill for about 90 min. 470cal. burn. I actually ran a little, usually i walk. inclined up tp 20%. I did alot of up and down, on both speed and incline. Left ankle is sore today. I may try a ankle wrap next time to see if it helps.
work as usual, family all good. emoticon

Going to give journaling a try. My goal is to lose 20 pds by aug. i keep going off track and starting over. So tired of the belly fat. Age is definatly against me.

I do good with food till the evening meal and evening snacking, so i need to work on that
Exercise is hit or miss, want to start being consistant with walking on my treadmill.
GOALS - do better on eating and get in some form of exercise 4 times a week.
i pretty much know why evening food is the problem area, i cook the meal for husband and me so i don't want to waste it. He needs to eat but i just need a tuna salad or something. i need to get over this feeling of wasting food. just put it in the frig for leftovers.
i am not a morning person, but i like spending time in the evening when hb is home. Maybe i should get over that too and exercise in the evening. If my husband was trying to lose weight he would do as he wanted or needed to be done.
Maybe i will try scheduling exercise as an appointment to get it done. throwing some thoughts out there to get myself motivated and figure out what i need to do and do it.
If my kids were home i know they would keep me accountable if i asked them but they are doing there own life now, if i asked my hb im sure he would help me. maybe i should ask him to help keep me accountable..sure he would love to ride me to exercise.....ha
Here goes day 1........... food awareness and exercise.
