Love the taste of coffee - with no fixens added - If I want desert I'll have a bit of apple pie
I've been using almond milk for quite a while now which I find tastes good cool or cold, but I tend not to like it hot. If I want my latte hot, I will either go with a 50/50 mix of almond milk and rice milk, or just rice milk. The mix gives a better creamy texture and lower calories than the full rice milk which has twice the amount of calories than almond milk. I also use just 1 tbsp. zylitol to sweeten it. (possible allergy to regular sugar). Sometimes I will make my mocha latte with unleaded (caffeine free) espresso as a desert. (while the rest of my family has their sugary desert.)
I was wasting away an insane amount of calories on coffee creamer, more than I even realized. So I saw Almond Breeze Almond milk and it only was 40-60 calories per cup depending what kind you get. So I got that to try considering I only put a tablespoon or 2 in and it actually works pretty well. Its not the same as cream, but at least I can drink my 3-4 cups of coffee a day without using up a bunch of calories because of creamer.

another reformed CC addict here :)
I loaded my javamochavanillahazelnut into my cup every morning until I was diagnosed with celiac disease and a milk protein allergy. Soy was also a no no because it can trigger gut problems for me. and all those things were in my favorite creamers...not to mention all the preservatives etc that can add junk to your trunk.
What I've found is that I LOVE black coffee, I can truly appreciate what different roasts of coffee taste like. I still add a little sugar but that's all I need. Starbucks Via packets rock too :) Once in awhile I us So Delicious Coconut Milk Creamers (they have french vanilla, hazelnut, and original)..a good alternative!
no enjoy your week and go play around with your coffee without adding an entire meals worth of calories to your cup :)
I'm still working on getting recipes up for all the pics. If there's a particular recipe you'd like more info on, I'd love to help!

I am glad I found this posting because I am a coffee and creamer addict as well.
I was wondering was what keeping me from getting pass a certain weight then I did research on what was in creamer in which I was getting two-three bottles a week of french vanilla or carmel and vanilla. I found this article http://www.mommyknows.com/real-food-how- to-make-your-own-french-vanilla-coffee -creamer/ because I wanted to not spend so much money a month and to also loose weight.
So I have now started making my own french vanilla creamer and with the recipe I use almond milk which is still great....loving the savings and the I can make it to taste with any flavor. I hope this helps anyone who wants to save on spending money on creamer also check out the article: http://kelleeganci.suite101.com/is-your-co ffee-creamer-silently-killing-you-a232355 which helped me in not buying the expensive and artificially flavored creamers...

I've been thinking the same thing. I love my fat free hazelnut creamer and just don't enjoy my coffee without it. If I have two cups a day is 100 calories. Thinking about switching to tea with ff milk. I'll miss my coffee.

Hi Ladies - reformed coffee creamer addict here. I hit a plateau a while back and figured I was adding over 100 calories a day to my food by using coffee creamer and those were just empty calories.
For me it worked to go cold turkey. I switched out some of my coffee for hot green tea and that helped. I now have one Starbucks nonfat latte with one sweet and low. I add cinnamon and nutmeg spice powder for flavor. This is a huge switch from the breve that I used to get.
I got off my plateau and am still down 93 lbs with about 7 to go to reach my goal. I found the coffee creamers were not my friend. Now when I have them they just taste artificial and I don't want them anymore.

I love the Coffeemate fat free vanilla creamer. It has a lot of calories though. If you are at a plateau and you think that you may be consuming too many calories, you may need to start weaning yourself off the coffee or the creamer... Besides, coffee dehydrates you and that is not good for weight loss.

My favorite thing to add is nonfat whip cream. It's low in calories, but gives a little sweetness to my coffee. If you let it melt, then it's similar to creamer.

Do you have a target goal for daily calories? Have you stayed under the goal? Do you have other conditions such as pre-diabetes? Your own metabolism may have difficulty with the artificial ingredients in many non-dairy coffee creamers. Have you tried options such as flavored almond milk? Are you still exercising to goal?
If so, the plateau could be simply temporary.

i dont use powdered coffee creamers, but i buy the fat free vanilla or skinney brands, i also use great value brand from walmart, the low fat or fat free are 25 calories per tablespoon and the full fat ones are 35 to 45 cals. i wish i could just do plain black coffee, but its not for me and i hate hate hate sweet and low or any of those artificial sugars.

What kind of coffee creamer do you use?
I love the flavored kinds, and have taken to using liquid fat free, sugar free coffee creamer, and adding flavored extracts to the container. This way I can control the amount of sugars, and it's much less in calories, and I'm still getting the flavor! (hope this helps.

I am a coffee creamer addict! I could easily put 1/8 of a cup of coffee creamer in each 16 oz of coffee (note: I drink 4 of these in the morning). Any suggestions... and milk is not a suggestion. Tried it - bleh!
I successfully lost 28 pounds and am now at a plato... could the coffee creamer be the culprit? I have given up breakfast for this little addition.
