Some of the chains like Chili's and Applebee's are offering skinny drinks - usually Margaritas. Today I tried the skinny trio while dining at the Outback. They are 4-5 oz flavored drinks, one regular lime, one mango and one pomegranate for 200 calories total. The first one has no orange liquer but you could ask for an orange slice and squeeze it in. My bartender added a fresh squeezed lime which gave them more flavor. I had ice tea with my meal and the trio in place of dessert. For an evening out, all bars have either diet Pepsi or diet Coke so I usually have that as my mix with whisky and order it tall. Some places will automatically give you another shot or at least half so watch what they pour. You can then just refill with diet soda when your friends order another round.

Cider isn't too bad - a bottle is about 120 cal... and over ice, you can make it last a fair while.
Wine is another option, as you can sip it and make it last, for maybe 100 cal/glass. Extend it by making it into a spritzer.
Anything mixed with "fruit juice" (i.e. margaritas) is a danger zone - lots and lots of sugar, sometimes they contain cream too (i.e. pina colada or other coconuty-tropical concoctions). Real calorie bombs, plus they tend to go down really fast, so, not a great choice.
Goal 1 - break 200 (46 pounds lost)**DONE** Goal 2 - leave obesity behind (BMI 29.9, at 185#) **DONE** Goal 3 - BMI = Normal (154# or less)
I usually go for beer; generally Miller Lite or Coors Light as they are about 100 calories for a 12 oz bottle and I can count it easily!

Generally speaking it is not the alcohol that does you in, but the mixers--once you start adding juices, simple syrups, and so forth, your drink shoots up in calories quit a lot so think minimalist. Beware, also of tonic water--seems benign but can pack another 50 calories in a small drink (about 10 calories per ounce). But hey, sometimes it's worth it...

Or GIN with low cal bitter , gin goes really nice with any fruit flavour!

Vodka with lemon juice and a touch of Stevia. Shaken, not stirred. ;-)
If I am out and about, I will ask for a mojito made with Splenda instead of the simple syrup. It is good. First, it does not taste as sweet as a regular mojito. If I am at home, I like to buy the zero calorie margarita mix and mix my own drink so I can control the amount of alcohol in my drink. If you have not tried the Skinny Girl drinks, the Sangria is pretty good.

I drink vodka soda with lime (sometime flavored vodka, sometimes not). You could also get a splash of oj or cranberry juice for a few extra calories. Vodka soda doesn't necessarily taste the best, but like YOJULEZ said, it does slow down your drinking. I'll also drink Bud Light if I'm trying to go light on calories (again, doesn't taste great, but doesn't kill you with calories). Some of my favorite beers have 300+ calories per bottle!

The lowest one I can think of is plain vodka (not the flavored kind) with soda/seltzer and a twist of lime or lemon. That's around 65 calories assuming they only use a single shot (1oz) of vodka. But, the taste isn't the best (which works well if you want to nurse your drink for awhile). The flavored vodkas are good, I like Effen Black Cherry with soda, that's around 70 calories assuming again, only 1oz of vodka.
But, if I have the room, I'll actually get 7-up/sierra mist/whatever with cherry vodka. But that brings the total up to around 200, unless they have diet 7-up, which most bars don't. If they do have the diet version then it's the same as getting plain soda.

The times that I have been on SparkPeople, I never went out drinking. I guess I didn't know what to drink that would be good on my healthy eating lifestyle plan. I am going out tonight to a bar with some friends to see a band and I would like to have a drink but I don't know what to get. I would love to hear from my SP friends to see what are some good skinny cocktail ideas. I filled out my food plan for the day and have room for a drink so I would love to hear some of your ideas!
