This year I really had the urge to reach out and help other people who are struggling. I didn't want to donate to a large organization, or just buy a present for an anonymous person from a gift tree. I wanted to really connect with a person or a family. So I found the website: www.SantasWishList.org. I would definitely recommend checking it out. There are people there posting who have Christmas and non-Christmas needs. There is a huge range of family sizes and needs, so no matter how much or how little you have to give, I'm sure you'll be able to find a good match. I am struggling myself, but I know that I have enough to help at least one person. I found a grandmother/granddaughter on there asking for help. The granddaughter is 15 and all she was asking for was an electric blanket and a lava lamp. It broke my heart. I am so happy to have found them, and to be able to help them.
Anyway, I don't want to push this idea on anyone. I just wanted to pass along the info in case anyone else is in the position to help, but doesn't really know where to look.
**ETA: Great point from the below poster. Yes, if you are in need, you can also post there!
