Low Fat Sugar Cookies

1 cup sugar
1/3 cup applesauce
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 egg whites or egg substitute equivilant to 1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup skim milk


Whisk together first four ingredients.

Stir in remaining ingredients until thoroughly mixed.

Chill dough at least 1 hour.

Roll out on floured surface to 1/8th inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters.

Place a cookie sheet you have sprayed with Pam and bake at 375 degrees 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

Frost with powdered sugar with milk stirred in until desired consistency and colored sugars or other decorations of choice.
