I think riccilynn is right, you're probably mistaking chai tea for chia seeds which were used in the chia pet plants that sprout over time. It's also the same seeds that you are talking about. You pretty much add them to anything...yougurt, juice, baking, etc.

You can get them online if you can't find them in your local healthfood store. I've seen it on Vitacost and Amazon to name a few...

na, chia seeds can be added to food, Like flax seeds, just didn't know if the Tea stuff was the same thing.

I think you might be mixing up Chai (the tea) and Chia (seeds)... the Chia seeds are the ones that were big in the 80s to smear over terracotta shapes to make Chia Pets... the tea is a mix of spices to make a very flavorful Indian beverage...

So can I buy Chia tea, and not use it as tea? am I getting the seeds this way.. cause I want to use it in some recipes and our stores near my home don't sale the chia seeds..
