Thanks Coach Nancy for responding. My doc suggested walking but that hurts too. I have lost the muscle I gained training and now feel like I'm turning to flab and gaining weight. I started using the meal plans to make myself eat healthier and to keep the weight off until I can start training again. Doc said there's a good chance I can return to running after recovery but that will be in November. I worked really hard to lose my extra weight over the past couple of years just through exercise. So afraid I will gain it all back.

Hi Suzy,

So sorry to hear of your injury--however, you will want to talk with your doctor as to what exercie he/she recommends for you. Offering suggestions is really outside the scope of advice our members and experts can offer. Sorry.

I ran a half marathon in November but since then I have a hip injury requiring surgery. I'm scheduled for surgery until late June. I want to stay fit but am limited as to what I can do for exercise. Even walking can cause swelling in my hip. How do I get a cardio workout without using my legs?
