I'd say contact your bariatrician and ask; they'll know best what might have caused it!

Depending on the type, it could be due to absorption problems that it creates (Also why the doc wants you to up your protein intake; your ability to absorb it is reduced). Each gastric bypass type (sleeve,Roux en Y, Billroth, etc) has its own particularities.
Did you eat protein as in meat/yogurt/etc or protein drinks/powders and that like? It could be that if you ate that without any actual 'food' (aka, as a protein juice) your body was unable to handle the sudden influx or didn't respond well to something in the supplement due to your altered digestive tract. There are protein supplements geared toward post-bypass patients that designed with ease of digestion and ease of absorption in mind.
Again, your bariatrician will know more.

Really, this sounds like it could be serious! I don't think you should be asking us for advice on this one; none of us are qualified to guess what could be causing your symptoms. I would strongly advise you to visit your doctor and discuss your symptoms. They could be indicative of diabetes, or any other number of medical concerns that don't have anything to do with carbs.

I would also ask for a referral to a registered dietician who can guide your diet given your special needs.

I would talk to your doctor and ask about signs/symptoms of hypoglycemia. If you ate too few carbs, you could have had an issue with your blood sugar being too low. But you really need to ask your doctor about that. He/She can talk about the signs/symptoms, how to handle and whether he/she wants you to monitor/log it.

There's some guy (Dr, Scientist, researcher? not sure) who theorizes that wheat has addictive properties and that people can experience 'withdrawal-like symptoms' when they go without. I don't know the validity of his claims, but you might want to do some googling and see if what he's saying relates to you.

I am a carb a holic. If it's white, sugary or salty I want it. I had gastric bypass surgery over 5 years ago and due to y habits have gained back about 50 pounds. This morning I started the day with the intention of eating mostly protein like my doctors say is necessary. About an hour after I ate I started getting hot, dizzy and just plain sick. I had this feeling before and knew what it was, so I started eating crackers.I ate the whole sleeve, but I felt better physically. Can somebody tell me howto get past this???
