Nope. I don't live in a state. I live in a province. emoticon

You might as well ask me to paint the Mona Lisa, my province has to be one of the most complicated ones to draw in my country. Damn you, Ontario. You're so big and oblong! Can I just do Saskatchewan?

We tried with Arizona. Husband came closer, but we still couldn't remember certain parts exactly. Fun activity.

Colorado is easy!

Colorado is a rectangle, so it's not much of a challenge. Back when I lived in Fla, though....

8/20/13 8:29 P me it looks like a twisted Xmas Stocking with a heel.

Geography was always my worst subject....I can name and place all the US States
but the rest of the planet ... .
It doesn't look anything like what I studied in elementary school

Hurrah for provinces! I'm also in BC and could sketch a reasonable outline.

I would not trust my face with the graham cracker challenge, however.

I live in a province as well -- Ontario Canada. It is a basic geometric shape that I had better be able to sketch!

oh, you betcha!

There was a pizza place we went to regularly as kids that had a map of the US on it, but no state names. We got really good at naming all the states just by location/shape. All those tiny ones in the northeast can be difficult! And those squares in the mid west - you have to know the surrounding states.

I am pretty sure I can't draw or nibble an outline of my state, but I'm good with that.

I was referring to the graham cracker nibble-art... I don't know how a person would nibble down the gap between the mitt and thumb...! Then again, probably easier than doing the coastline of Alaska... or Hawaii....

More impressive if you live in Michigan... less so if you live in North Dakota... lol....

I can do you one better.
It's a game I invented...and have shared with various Cub Scout/church groups I've been involved with.

I can NIBBLE the shape of my state, using either graham cracker (better) or Saltine cracker (tougher) as my sculpting media.

The winner got a couple Hershey bars and a small bag of marshmellows and the remaining graham cracker. It was a big hit with the Cub Scout crowd.

The key is not just nibbling. But scraping and shaving with the edge of teeth as well. I happen to be really good at this game and have more artistic nibbling skills than I do drawing skills.

Geography, I loved it in elementary school and was one of the few students that knew how to draw the outline (geographical) and/or recognize the shape of just about any state in the union. State flags, too!

Draw your state then do a Google search for a picture of your close were you?
