The arrival of our period can be a strange and mysterious thing. You can be like clockwork for years, and then suddenly be unpredictable, or vice-versa. For years I was very irregular, and then suddenly for no apparent reason, my period started to come every 30 days regularly. Relax and give it time.

When I start a new exercise routine, my time of the month is off too. I'm normally on the exact day every month. I wouldn't worry too much! :)

Weight loss (usually exteme), aggressive exercise, large calorie deficits can all change your hormone balance and cause missed or longer cycles. Since you just started a new program, maybe it is just off a little for now. If it is an ongoing problem or if you are hoping to conceive in the near future, you might want to see your doctor. You might also try a pregnancy test a week if you are a week or so late as sometimes it can take a little while for the hormones to show up in large enough quantities. Most likely it is a temporary blip due to your new routine, but if it continues you may want to have it looked at.

When I started running, I don't think I got my period for like 2 months. I think it has more to do with the sudden exercise than anything. Maybe if you don't have it next month or two, go in to see your doctor.

Just relax if you 100% sure your not pregnant.. My circle even if my is tubes are cut and tighted can be a whole week late.. Sometimes with a fiberiod I can have spotting during the month just to flip me off..
I think you would have to drop a significant amount of body fat ( similar to Olympian athletes ) for this to be a real problem. The others may be right with the stress part. My period changes depending on my situation but has never skipped a month. You can read up on it on SP. I recently found an article on that subject.

I am 174 lbs right now. I started at 185. And I am 5 ft 4 in. Not really under a lot of stress right now. Haven't been sick or anything either. I will give it another week and if I don't start I am going to make a doctor appt. Thanks for the responses!!
Her tracker indicates around 40lbs left. If that's true, I don't think she is 105. :)

Another piece of the puzzle is how much you weighed at the start. If you were only like 105#, depending on your frame, dropping 12# could upset your hormonal balance. If you started at 150#, for instance, not likely; I wouldn't fret about it yet. Bodies change.

Dramatic weight loss can cause a woman's period to go off schedule, but have you been under any extra stress recently ? Stress can cause a woman's period to go off schedule too. Have you had any traumatic injuries ? a few years ago, I accidentally cut myself (requiring 4 stitches) and that screwed up my period.
Of course, worrying about not getting your period (maybe being pregnant) could delay it. I know you said you're not pregnant, but the worrying about it could have messed up your schedule.
Three weeks late is probably more like skipped one, so the next was heavier and early.
Four days seems like a big chunk out of 28, but it's still relatively small. Give it a bit longer.

BRANDI - it can definitely make you later than normal. I am usually right on time as well but any time I start a new routine or change things up, I am late. Last month, I was almost three weeks late!

I am usually exactly 28 days with my cycle. But I am 4 days late. I have took 4 pregnancy tests (on different days and each one first thing in the morning), all negative. I am usually right on time getting my period. I did have a little cramping yesterday but that has gone away. And I always get acne on my face and chest around the time of my period and I have had that the past few days too. But no other signs of a period coming... I have been dieting and exercising for a month now and I have lost a little over 10 lbs. Could this be the reason if I am not pregnant, which it doesn't look like I am?
