The best thing you can do for your physical and mental health is get on the path to change- it's difficult and scary, but I always try to remind my clients that the scariest and hardest changes are often the ones we need the most! Love and value yourself, make baby steps, and as you build confidence everything will follow in suit- the ball is in your court- the hardest step is the first one!
If you want some more motivation, here are some inspiring ways to change your thinking- often, our attitudes are what hold us back, not our abilities!
The ball is in your park and it's up to you what you do with it . I feel 30 min of exercise is enough and 1400-1500 calories are great ! There is nothing wrong with wanting to know how many calories thats in everything ! I have gained and lost over 50 lbs many times but i didn't know how to do it until i got on spark . I AM HERE THE REST OF MY LIFE ! I WANT TO BE HEALTHY AND THE TOOLS ARE HERE ! If i can help you i am here daily ! THAT'S MY CHOICE !

I've lost & regained a large amount of weight too. I believe my focus was wrong - losing weight as the goal (with obsessive calorie counting etc), but this time around I am trying more to focus on a lifestyle change with intuitive eating as my goal. You can do it (again!) just don't give up :)

You've gotten some great advice already. I agree with the previous posters that how you're feeling and your pattern of weight loss are something you really should discuss with a professional. The best thing you can do is figure out why this pattern has continued for so long, so that you can deal with the root cause. Then you'll be able to lose the weight and keep it off for good. I'd recommend talking to your doctor about it, and hopefully they can give you a referral to talk to someone who specializes in this type of thing.

There's always a reason for our behaviors. I agree with others in getting some help for support. The health part of gaining & losing is SO dangerous for our bodies.
Your life is so valuable and I'm sure you have so much to offer. Get some help to move forward!

obsessive behaviour is never a good thing. You may want to look into a support group on a local level like Over Eaters Anonymous. You may also want to consider talking to your doctor, and possibly get a referral to a dietician.
Well, the good thing is that you have done the hard work before, so why not again? Maybe you could join a group where you get some support from the other people and also advises from professionals. It's dangerous to stress your body by exercising too much or eating like a mad. And another positive things is that you recognize what the problem is. I would suggest that try to find help and solutions for healthier you.

Hi everyone! i've had a tough battle with my weight/self esteem since i was a teen. i have lost/gained 100 lbs more times than i care to say. last time i lost it counting calories, id eat around 1400-1500 calories, and got from 233 lbs to 130 lbs (im 5'5" 27 years old). but i was too obsessed. i needed to know every calorie i ate, i would exercise 2 hours 6 days a week. one day i thought id loosen the reigns. i ate until i was nauseous and my stomach was in awful pain.
this led me to overeating. i would eat and eat. it didnt matter if i was hungry or if i wanted it. it was a desperation i had never felt before. i even ended up with stomach pains from overeating, turns out i got gallstones from my overeating! lol this caused me to be depressed and tired of dieting, i ended up gaining 70 lbs very quickly.
i am so sick of gaining and losing, gaining and losing. i dont know if i want to go through this again. or how to go about losing weight without obsessing. i am finally at a point where i eat until i am full only. but i still eat unhealthy things. not sure where to go from here. i am restarting exercise, been doing 20-30 mins a day. but havent even attempted to start a diet... not sure what to do!
