Go nuts! A handful of nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios...) packs alot of calories, good fats, and some protein. If you get the dry-roasted unsalted kind, then they don't come with the bad stuff.

I am also having trouble meeting my caloric goal on a normal basis. I am a tall, very active female and the low end of my caloric spectrum is around 1,700 (for example today I'm at 1,500). I'm hitting everything else (a little low on a carbs sometimes) but I can't seem to get the calories in. I guess I could pound some apple cider but I don't feel like it so it seems silly.

I think you're doing great. I encourage you to continue listening to your body and stopping when you're comfortably sated.

I struggle with it a lot of the time too! Like the other poster mentioned, try eating some more calorie dense foods. Peanut butter is a good one, or things like nuts or dried fruit.

You can also try drinking your calories... like drink milk or fruit juice. Also, when you eat, maybe just make slightly more, and eat slightly more than you do now, even if it's an extra half ounce of pasta (which is 100 calories) or a couple extra ounces of meat.

Or, sometimes I just add in an extra sweet or two (like a couple homemade cookies), since those are things I don't eat that often...just make sure you're not going over your other nutritional goals by adding that in.

You could try adding something to your diet that is a calorie dense food but which lacks any bulk. A tablespoon of peanut butter for example, 90 calories but is a small in terms of how much space it will occupy in your stomach.

I'm supposed to be eating between 1,800 and 2,100 calories, but I can't eat that much! I used to eat more than 2,100 a day, but now that I am eating a more balanced diet and drinking 5+ cups of water a day, I can barely eat over 1,550. Should I push myself to eat more, or just let it be? I don't want to go into 'starvation mode,' but i feel full!
Please help.
Ps. I'm an 18 year old boy.
