I typically adjust the minutes or intensity on Sparkpeople to reflect what the cardio machine showed.

I just go by what Sparkpeople gives me and it works out fine.

both estimate are probably too far off. Can you invest in a HRM?

I've always heard you should subtract at least 10% from the cardio machines if you enter your height, weight, and age to the machine. I tend not to eat back my calories, so I go more by time than calories and avoid the confusion! :)

Entering mine manually after I enter in my milage has always worked for me

Here's an Ask the Expert page that addresses this that you may find helpful: www.sparkpeople.com/community/ask_the_expe

When I got to the gym and use their cardio equipment the calories burned on their machines differ to what this site says I have burned - can you change the calories burned on each exercise (as I can't see how to do that)? And has anyone else come across that?
