Thanks for posting this. I have been thinking of getting a heart rate monitor because all the exercise I do never seems to get me anywhere, and I thought maybe I just wasn't exercising within the right heart range.

For the heart rate monitor, you need a chest strap. I highly recommend the Polar FT4. It's not fancy but it has what you need. It's easy to use and inexpensive. You can get them on Amazon for $60ish.

There are a few good models.

Make sure you get one that uses a chest strap, not just stopping to touch the watch now and then, and that actually does calories burned (lower models only tell you the HR).

Hey! So, I have been interested in getting a calorie counter and heart rate watch/ arm band to use while I work out. I have always been interested in how many calories I am burning and watching my heart rate.

I was wondering if anyone has one and if they think its worth it to buy it. Also, which do you have/ which would you suggest?!
