Slow down the running. If you get discouraged and quit the program, then you can't ever expect to complete it right? You have to move out of your comfort zone to progress.

I didn't last 5 minutes and blacked out during my first workout 14 years ago. If I had gotten discouraged and quit...well...I'd probably be a very overweight, very unhealthy couch potato.

About 2 months ago, I posted a panic because I was discouraged that I couldn't bike more than 200 m and couldn't even turn a corner. People suggested I keep at it, etc. and I did. Last week, I biked 35 kms. Really, just don't give up.

I started c25k yesterday with week 1 day 1 and I expected it to be really easy but I'm embarrassed to say I definitely struggled with it. If the first day was so hard then can I even expect to finish it? I'm just feeling a bit discouraged.

The Talk Test is also helpful when choosing your speed. You should be able to answer a question but not comfortably carry on a conversation during your workout. If you are gasping for breath and can't talk, slow down. If you could easily have a conversation, try speeding up a little. What's fast for one person might not be fast for another, so you'll just have to experiment to figure out the best speed for you.

there is no technical difference between "jogging" and running. Just run slowly.

as slow as you can run, just barely picking your feet off the ground and barely faster than your walk.

I'm going to stop talking about it and actually start this program today. My question is about speed? What should I be shooting for?
