Apart from eggs, beans are my go-to for significant protein in the morning. (And I often have beans with my eggs to boot!) Beans might not seem breakfasty, but they are eaten in many places around the world for breakfast. 2 cups of cooked black or pinto beans comes in at around 30 grams of protein (and 30 grams of fiber!). A really simple way to enjoy these cold or hot is to mix them with some canned diced tomatoes (fire roasted or with herbs are personal favorites) and a little Cajun seasoning. I also enjoy fat-free refried beans the same way- with some diced tomatoes on top and some extra seasoning. Bean salads are another great way to enjoy them, and why not for breakfast? Well my suggestion definitely won't get you to 30g of protein..
But recently it was suggested to me that i cut down on carbs in the morning and amp up my protein to feel fuller longer.
So i took 2 tbsp of peanut butter and have been eating it with some dried apple or pear slices. I LOVE peanut butter but usually have to eat it in small doses since it's so high calorie but since i'm using it as my whole breakfast i can get those two scoops and it feels amazingly decadent and keeps me full!

Well, if you liked eating beans, here is a way to get a lot of protein:
Heat up one can of drained and rinsed black beans (24.5 g. of protein). It will be around 385 calories, plus any sauce such as bbq or teriyaki you would add for flavoring.
OK, yes, I admit most people won't eat a can of beans for breakfast. LOL! However, I have and occasionally do, and have found it is a good way to begin the day.

I was curious so I looked up the NI for 1 large egg white.
Calories 17 Total Fat 0.06g Cholesterol 0mg 0% Sodium 55mg 2% Potassium 54mg Total Carbohydrate 0.24g 0% Dietary Fiber 0g 0% Sugars 0.23g Protein 3.6g
I am shocked! It's really not that bad.

I also use a smoothie to add more protein . The protein powder is whey-free , called, " Jay Robb's protein powder,in flavors of plain, strawberry or chocolate, . This powder can be mixed with water or milk or another beverage.; to keep lactose- free, I use Soy milk, vanilla, 1 cup, or 1 cup Greek yogurt, plus I add fresh fruit that is soft,ripe, either, half of a banana,and 5 strawberries ( stem removed), Or a soft green pear, skin removed, and a kiwee fruit, to sweeten, I use either a packet of Stevia sugar, or a Tablespoon of honey.
I recently read on Pintrest, to add a couple of Tablespoons of Oatmeal to the Smooothie right before blending.

So typically I do 6 egg whites (20g+ protein), but this morning I decided I wanted a big bowl of oatmeal. I follow a lot of healthy Instagram accounts, and a few of them recommended "Proats" which is "protein" and "oats" combined. I made a 1.5 serving of oatmeal, and added a scoop of my Body Fortress Chocolate Protein Powder (along with some goji berries, cinnamon, and raisings). It's not bad,I think I'd enjoy the powder more in some almond milk though, lol. But still, overall not bad. I'm just thinking of the awesome 30gs protein I just bumped in!
Do you have any "cheats" on how to add more protein to your diet?
